ANNOUNCEMENTS FOR NOVEMBER 8, 2020, 32nd SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME<\/span><\/p>\n

Announcements of the Parish and the Apostolic Prefecture\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

The Plenary Indulgences for the deceased faithful:<\/b><\/p>\n

This year, in the current circumstances due to the \u201cCovid-19\u201d pandemic, the Plenary Indulgences for the deceased faithful will be extended throughout the entire month of November, with adaptation of works and conditions to guarantee the safety of the faithful.<\/span><\/p>\n

1. The Plenary Indulgence for those who visit a cemetery and pray for the deceased, even if only mentally, normally established only <\/span>on the individual days from 1 to 8 November, may be transferred to other days of the same month, until its end<\/b>. These days, freely chosen by the individual believers, may also be separate from each other.<\/span><\/p>\n

2. The Plenary <\/span>Indulgence of 2 November<\/b>, established on the occasion of the Commemoration of all the deceased faithful for those who piously visit a church or oratory and recite the \u201cOur Father\u201d and the \u201cCreed\u201d there, may be transferred not only to the Sunday before or after or on the day of the Solemnity of All Saints, but also to<\/span> another day of the month of November, freely chosen by the individual faithful.<\/b><\/p>\n

(We remind the usual conditions for indulgences: sacramental confession, Eucharistic communion and prayer according to the Holy Father’s intentions and to be completely detached from sin.)<\/span><\/p>\n

3. The elderly, the sick and all those who for serious reasons cannot leave their homes<\/b>, for example because of restrictions imposed by the competent authority in this time of the pandemic, in order to prevent numerous faithful from crowding into the holy places, will be able to obtain the Plenary Indulgence as long as they join spiritually with all the other faithful, completely detached from sin and with the intention of complying as soon as possible with the three usual conditions, before an image of Jesus or the Blessed Virgin Mary, recite pious prayers for the deceased, for example, Lauds and Vespers of the Office of the Dead, the Marian Rosary, the Chaplet of Divine Mercy, other prayers for the deceased dearest to the faithful, or occupy themselves in considered reading of one of the Gospel passages proposed by the liturgy of the deceased, or perform a work of mercy by offering to God the sorrows and hardships of their own lives.<\/span><\/p>\n

Activity of the Catholic Church and the possibility to visit the church during quarantine time:<\/b><\/p>\n

In current conditions, the Church in Khatai will be open from Tuesday to Saturday from 10:00 to 17:00 only for personal prayer, dialogue with a priest, receiving the Sacraments (in accordance with quarantine rules and all preventive measures).<\/span><\/p>\n

On our web page catholic.az and on the door of the Church you can find the opening hours for the visitors.<\/span><\/p>\n

If the Internet connection allows, our online broadcasts of Holy Masses in Russian will continue on Sundays at 13:00 on our YouTube channel.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the case of any changes due to the quarantine rules, we will immediately inform parishioners through our website and Facebook page.<\/span><\/p>\n

Dispense from the duty of personal participation at Sunday Mass <\/b>(not necessary to announce every Sunday)<\/span>:<\/b><\/p>\n

We remind you that at the present time, due to the continuing ban on public services, the ordinary of the Apostolic Prefecture of the Catholic Church in Azerbaijan temporarily exempts faithful Catholics from the obligation of personal participation in Sunday Mass.<\/span><\/p>\n

This exemption is valid until further notice.<\/span><\/p>\n
