Announcements of the Apostolic Prefecture<\/b><\/h3>\n

Announcement of Easter and the Moveable Feasts <\/b>(solemn form)<\/span><\/h4>\n

Know, dear brethren (brothers and sisters),<\/span><\/p>\n

that, as we have rejoiced at the Nativity of our Lord Jesus Christ,<\/span><\/p>\n

so by leave of God’s mercy<\/span><\/p>\n

we announce to you also the joy of his Resurrection,<\/span><\/p>\n

who is our Savior.<\/span><\/p>\n

On the seventeenth day of February will fall Ash Wednesday<\/b>,<\/span><\/p>\n

and the beginning of the fast of the most sacred Lenten season.<\/span><\/p>\n

On the fourth day of April you will celebrate with joy Easter Day<\/b>,<\/span><\/p>\n

the Paschal feast of our Lord Jesus Christ.<\/span><\/p>\n

On the sixteenth day of May will be the Ascension of our Lord Jesus Christ.<\/b><\/p>\n

On the twenty-third day of May, the feast of Pentecost.<\/b><\/p>\n

On the sixth day of June, the feast of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ.<\/b><\/p>\n

On the twenty-eighth day of November, the First Sunday of the Advent of our Lord Jesus Christ,<\/b><\/p>\n

to whom is honor and glory for ever and ever.<\/span><\/p>\n

Activity of the Catholic Church and the possibility to visit the church during quarantine time:<\/b><\/h4>\n

The current pandemic situation does not allow us to publicly gather for liturgical celebrations.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

However, churches will be open during this period. We invite you to contact any of our priests about the possibility to visit the church (either in Khatai or in Ganjlik) for personal prayer, a dialogue with a priest, and the receiving the sacraments.<\/span><\/p>\n

We remind you that during the sacrament of confession, as well as during every visit to the church, it is necessary to strictly observe the rules of quarantine (social distance, wearing masks and hands disinfection).<\/span><\/p>\n

For all questions about the visit of the church, receiving sacraments, Holy Masses and other celebrations, services and needs, you can contact our priests.<\/span><\/p>\n

We continue online broadcasts of Holy Masses in Russian on Sundays at 11:00 on our YouTube channel.<\/span><\/p>\n

Dispense from the duty of personal participation at Sunday Mass and holy days of obligation:<\/b><\/h4>\n

We remind you that at the present time, due to the continuing ban on public services, the ordinary of the Apostolic Prefecture of the Catholic Church in Azerbaijan temporarily exempts faithful Catholics from the obligation of personal participation in Mass on Sunday and holy days of obligation. This exemption is valid until further notice.<\/span><\/p>\n
