POPE FRANCIS ANNOUNCED THE BEGINNING OF THE YEAR OF PRAYER

At noon on January 21, greeting pilgrims after reciting the “Angelus” prayer, the Holy Father announced the beginning of the Year of Prayer in the Church.

“In a few months, the Holy Doors will open and the Jubilee of 2025 will begin,” said the Bishop of Rome and called on the faithful to “pray more diligently in order to prepare to worthily experience this blessed event and feel the power of God’s hope. That is why today we begin the Year of Prayer. The celebration of this Year will help every Christian to rediscover “the great value and absolute necessity of prayer in personal life, in the life of the Church and the whole world. In this we will also be helped by the benefits that the Department of Evangelization will make available to us,” said Pope Francis.
