BISHOP VLADIMIR FEKETE TOOK PART IN THE PRAYER SERVICE TO THE HOLY APOSTLE BARTHOLOMEW
Every year, on 24 of June – the memory day of the Apostle Bartholomew – the heavenly patron of the city of Baku, the clergy and faithful of the Baku and Azerbaijan Diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church perform a prayer service with an akathist hymn to the holy apostle at the foot of the Maiden Tower. Every year, the prayer service gathers not only Orthodox Christians, but also representatives of other Christian communities in the country at the place of the martyrdom of St. Bartholomew.
The service at the place of the martyrdom of the Apostle Bartholomew was led by Bishop Alexy of Baku and Azerbaijan.
The apostolic prefect of the Catholic Church in Azerbaijan, Bishop Vladimir Fekete took part at the prayer service.
At the end of the service, Bishops Alexy and Vladimir blessed the city and country with particles of the relics of the Holy Apostle Bartholomew.
