22 OCTOBER – SAINT POPE JOHN PAUL II COMMEMORATION DAY

On October 22, the Church commemorates saint pope John Paul II.

Saint John Paul II has an exclusive importance for the Church in Azerbaijan. He was the first Roman pontiff who made a visit to our country.

His great authority, his prayers and blessings, as well as the personal sacrifices that he made when he visited our country as a seriously ill person, played a significant role in the revival of the Catholic Church in Azerbaijan.

In the parish of St. John Paul II, the day of his memory is a patronal feast day. We invite all the faithful to take part in the solemn liturgy, to give thanks to God for the gift of St. John Paul II, for all the graces that the Lord has granted us and our Church in Azerbaijan by the his intercession.

The Holy Mass in Russian will take place on October 22, at 19:00, in the chapel of St. John Paul II (parish of St. John Paul II, Ganjlik, Mammad Araz str., 69/b/1)
